SNEAKY LITTLE GOOD GIRL . . . OR BOY.
Apparently, I have a knack for voicing teenage girls and boys. Someday I hope to expand to animated characters and animals — like a badass princess or a monkey with a mind of her own.
Most recently, I voiced, edited, and produced the audiobook versions of two young adult trilogies: The Desolation Series by Ali Cross and The Mindjack Series by Susan Kaye Quinn. To learn more about these projects and hear samples, see below.
I have a killer (ergonomic) voiceover booth at my house, so I can record auditions easily and quickly.
Audiobooks Narrated by Kelli Shane
The Mindjack Trilogy
Sixteen-year-old Kira Moore is a zero, someone who can’t read thoughts or be read by others. Zeros are outcasts who can’t be trusted, leaving her no chance with Raf, a regular mindreader and the best friend she secretly loves. When she accidentally controls Raf’s mind and nearly kills him, Kira tries to hide her frightening new ability from her family and an increasingly suspicious Raf. But lies tangle around her, and she’s dragged deep into a hidden world of mindjackers, where having to mind control everyone she loves is just the beginning of the deadly choices before her.
The Desolation Series
Sixteen-year old Desolation (Desi) Black wants nothing more than to stay in Hell where it’s cold and lonely and totally predictable. Instead, she’s sent back to Earth where she must face the evil she despises and the good she always feared. When Desi is forced to embrace her inner demon, she assumes her choice has been made—that she has no hope of being anything other than what her father, Lucifer, has created her to be. What she doesn’t count on, is finding a reason to change—something she’s never had before—a friend.
“I was very grateful when I heard Kelli Shane’s audition because she had just the right edge to her voice for Desi. Working with her has been amazing. She has really gone the extra mile (or two or three!) to provide a product I’m proud of and she makes the collaboration enjoyable. I am thrilled with Kelli’s portrayal of Desi and can’t wait to continue working with her!”
“I enjoyed Kelli Shane’s performance as much as I loved the story. I thought she was a perfect match.”
“I really enjoyed the narrator. She pulls off the bored, defeated tone as well as excited and sarcastic. I know some narrators can be overly enthusiastic, but she handled it perfectly. She also manages to sound young and believable as the main character.
“Her diction is crisp, and her voice is pleasant to listen to (and appropriately young).”
“Her voice is readily identifiable with Kira, the teenaged heroine of the story. She is able to change back and forth between the other characters with ease, and it sounds very natural.”
